Artist's note:
Looking at the Pennsylvania Dutch countryside, I see the blood of my fathers and mothers soaked into the ground. As I watch African cloth patterns appear, I know this is my land too. ‘Harvest Moon’ is an expression of humanity’s connection to Mother Earth. “Wise is the man/woman who can see him/herself in everything”. This is an ancient principle of the oneness of self and the environment. Look at the moon and see your face shining down, look at the earth and see your culture evolving, feel the wind and know your own breath.
