Artist's note:
This picture is about the rare moments when we witness the glory of our own being. It is about transcending the mundane. The lotus represents teh simultaneity of cause and effect. It symbolizes each person's ability to rise above the conditions that life has presented.

The woman emerging from the lotus is my mom.
